Killing our soldiers softly…

It’s been a bad week.

More and more British Soldiers are being killed throughout the world for unjustified reasons. A soldier died in Iraq, his death made the total of UK soldiers killed in Iraq to 115.

In Afghanistan, three more soldiers died when militants ambushed their vehicle patrol. The attack brings to nine the number of British troops who have been killed in action in Afghanistan this year.

Our soldiers should be brought home, it was an illegal decision to send them to these territories and as a consequence too many have died. Many have also died because our boys are not provided with the correct protection. Our boys have had to share body armour & weapons, as there is not enough for everyone, they also have to drive out-of-date vehicles which have no resistant to modern warfare.

I am not in favour of our troops being in Iraq or Afghanistan but surely they could be provided with better equipment. The incompetence in the UK government means that the £25 billion invested on upgrading Trident could have been better used to equip our troops. It would also have sent a message throughout the world that we all need to cut down on Nuclear Weapons; instead it is giving a message to everyone that we are restarting the nuclear arms race.
